Adding a product seems simple, but one wrong checkbox in the "More Details" tab can suppress your listing forever. Follow this exact workflow.

1. Preparation (Don't Skip)

Before you even log in to Seller Central, you need:

  • UPC/GTIN Code: Only buy from GS1. Reseller codes will get you banned in 2026.
  • High-Res Images: Minimum 1000px on the shortest side or zoom won't work.
  • Category Proval: Ensure you are gated for the category.

2. The "Add a Product" Workflow

Go to Inventory > Add a Product. Select "I'm adding a product not sold on Amazon".

CRITICAL WARNING

Do NOT fill in the "Launch Date" if you are not ready to sell immediately. Setting a future date can mess up your "Honeymoon Period" visibility.

3. Initial Optimization

Fill out the "Vital Info" and "Offer" tabs. Leave the keyword fields blank for now until you have done proper research (see our SEO Checklist).
